Multi-warehouse inventory management
When stock sits in several places, a combined total is not enough. Your team needs to know which site holds it and how it moved.
What to review
- Stock balances by warehouse and bin
- Transfers between locations
- Movement history and stock adjustments
- Warehouse-focused reporting
Test a transfer before rollout
Start with a sample item at two warehouses. Move part of the quantity, check both balances and inspect the movement record. Test a correction as well as a successful transfer so responsibilities are clear.
Keep locations consistent
Agree warehouse names, bin labels, product codes and opening counts before import. Nearest-site allocation, automatic replenishment between branches and in-transit approval rules need separate confirmation rather than being assumed.
